Kumar, a 1996 batch IAS officer, is presently serving in his cadre state, Tripura.
The Appointments Committee of Cabinet has approved the proposal of Ministry of Civil Aviation for appointment of Kumar as Chief Vigilance Officer (CVO) in AAI for an initial deputation period of three years, an order issued by Department of Personnel and Training said.
His tenure is further extendable for a period of two years in the same organisation or three years in shifting to another Central Public Sector Enterprise, it said.
CVO acts as a distant arm of Central Vigilance Commission to check corruption in a government organisation.
