Acting on a tip-off, the team seized a countrymade pistol and two live cartridges from a youth hailing from Dharmaji Nagar of Wadgaon on Friday, said police.
The accused was arrested under the provisions of the Arms Act.
In the second case, police arrested three youths from Arni tehsil after intercepting their car and seized iron rods and sharp edged weapons from the vehicle.
In the third case, the anti-gang squad of Local Crime Branch seized six two-wheelers and one bicycle costing over Rs 1.75 lakhs from three vehicle lifters of whom one is a juvenile.
Yavatmal police have stepped up combing operation in the city to curb growing criminal activities in the district and are conducting surprise search of suspicious vehicles and persons moving in the city.
