With this, the number cases registered against the mafia brothers Sushant and Sushil went up to 17 after their arrests on January 28 from Bhubaneswar.
The Markat Nagar Police have registered the extortion case on the basis of a written complaint filed by a works contractor Sushant Kumar Swain, Cuttack DCP Sanjeev Arora said.
The contractor has alleged that the Dhalasamant brothers with their associate Kulu had demanded and taken Rs 15 lakh from him in January this year.
