Yadav along with lawyer-activist and colleague Prashant Bhushan who were ousted from the key party posts, were here to take part in a gathering at Girgaum.
Some prominent Maharashtra AAP leaders like Maruti Bhapkar, Manav Kamble (state executive members), Lalit Babar, Ibrahim Khan (National Council member), Priydarshan Bharti and Captain Das also attended the meeting organised ahead of 'Swaraj Samvad' (open dialogue), to be held on April 14 in New Delhi.
Around 50 leaders from Pune, Nashik and Thane came to meet Yogendra in Mumbai.
More that 250 activists across the state, including Mumbai have registered at Yogendra's facebook page, over which he has invited application forms from the participants.
Yadav's 'Swaraj Samvad' participation form on the Facebook page reads, "Quest for alternative politics stands at crossroads today. We need to stop to think, to reflect and to plan our way forward. That is why we invite you for 'Swaraj Samvad' a dialogue to be held on the 14th of April."
Asked if attending the dissent leader's meeting could invite disciplinary action, Kamble said, "Yogendra Yadav is still a party member, so what's wrong in it."
Meanwhile, Preeti Sharma Menon, national spokesperson of the party said, "Till Yogendra remains an AAP member, he has every right to hold such meeting which is for the sake of consolidation of the party."
"But it would have been so nice had he informed everyone about the meeting. Lots of members are there who would have loved to attend his meeting." she added.
