A 19-year-old youth, who was allegedly abducted from his rented room in Akash Nagar area here, was found dead today, police said.
The family members of the deceased, Vishal Mewada, had alleged that he was kidnapped yesterday and some unidentified people called his father to demand a ransom of Rs 15 lakh, Circle in-charge at Borekheda Police Station Mahavir Singh said.
"The body bore marks of fatal injury suggesting he was brutally murdered," Singh said, adding it was found near riverside in Notana village.
A case under relevant sections was lodged against the unidentified accused in this connection and further investigation into the matter were on, Singh said.
The body was handed over to the family members after post-mortem, he said.
