A youth is said to have committed suicide in Uttar Pradesh after the family of a girl, with whom he was in love with, rejected their marriage, the police said today.
Pawan Kumar (26) jumped before a train near a railway station in Shamli district yesterday. According to his suicide note, Kumar, has taken the step after the girl's family rejected their marriage, said circle officer Ashok Kumar.
The deceased's body has been sent for post-mortem, he added.
In the second incident, a youth apparently tried to commit suicide by shooting himself over a dispute with his wife in Muzaffarnagar district, a police official said.
