While speaking at a function, organised by Kerala Children's Literature Institute here, Gopi said "if the chief minister is not in the know of things, he should try to learn from knowledgeable people."
Seizing on the actor's comment, state Youth Congress president Dean Kuriakose said the actor need not impart lessons to a mass leader like Chandy.
"Suresh Gopi may win applause by running down politicians on screen. But his eloquence would be rejected outright by people when it is directed against a mass leader like Chandy," Kuriakose said.
The Southern Bench of the National Green Tribunal has stayed the airport project.
Chandy had recently said the government would support the project if its promoters came up with an environment-friendly project.
