Ganga while taking a bath in it, police said today.
Rishabh, a B A student, had gone to the Parmat Ghat along with his friends and elder brother to take bath in the river at the onset of 'Sawan' month when the mishap occurred, police said.
On seeing Rishabh drown, his elder brother Rishu jumped into river to save him but he too started drowning, police said. Divers present around plunged into the river to rescue the duo but only Rishu could be saved, they said.
After an hour, Rishabh's body was fished out and later sent for post-mortem, police said.
Meanwhile, the city police has appealed to the public not to bathe in the river and stay only near the river banks.
