Godavari in Koti Lingala village in the district while he gone to a temple on occasion of festival 'Mahashivratri', police said today.
Santosh Kumar (20), an MBA student from Bommareddy Palli village, had gone to a Lord Shiva's temple in Koti Lingala, nearly 50 kms from here, with his family, they said.
While taking dip in the river, he was swept away by the strong currents and drowned yesterday, Peddapalli Circle inspector, P Prashanth Reddy said.
Family members later fished out the body. A case has been registered in this regard and the body was sent for post mortem, he added.
