District and Sessions Court Judge S J Mantri awarded 10 years jail to Kiran More and also slapped a fine of Rs 51,000 after he was found guilty of raping a six-year-old girl in September, 2014 in Niphad taluka of the district, Assistant Public Prosecutor V N Hadpe said.
The court also ordered the accused to pay Rs 50,000 from the fine amount imposed on him to the victim's family.
According to prosecutor, on the day of the incident, More had gone to the girl's house on pretext of returning a ball. Taking advantage of absence of other family members, he raped her.
