Gyanilal Gurjar of Laxmipura village in Sadar police station area were attacked by his 10 relatives, including four women, while he was going to his agriculture field yesterday evening, SHO Dharmendra Kumar said.
"They attacked Gyanilal with axes and sticks, killing him on the spot," the SHO said, adding land-related dispute could be the reason behind the murder.
Kumar said a case of murder under section 302 of the IPC has been registered against 10 persons and three of them have been detained.
Meanwhile, the elder brother of the deceased alleged that inaction on part of the police led to the killing. "We filed several complaints with the police apprehending the attack, even met the Superintendent of Police. But no action was taken against the accused," the brother alleged.
