Youth held for rape of minor girl in UP's Banda

A 24-year-old man was arrested in connection with the rape of a minor girl here, police said on Wednesday.

SHO of Naraini police station Girindra Singh on Wednesday said, "The rape of a 16-year-old girl took place on Monday. The girl had gone to an agricultural field along with her parents. However, due to the hot weather, the parents returned to their home while the girl stayed back there. At that time, the son of the (woman) village pradhan flashed a country-made pistol, threatened her and raped her."
