The youth, identified as Farhan, a BTech student, was stopped by a police team of Jaitpur police station during check last night. Farhan is a Jamia Nagar resident.
While Farhan was being grilled by a sub-inspector, constable Rajeeve standing nearby accidentally pulled the trigger of his pistol hitting the youth on his foot, said the officer.
The injured youth was treated upon. The constable has been booked for negligence and arrested, said a senior police officer.
