Youth kidnaps, rape a 10-yr-old girl

A 10-year-old girl was allegedly kidnapped and raped by a youth in Balodabazar district of Chhattisgarh, police said today.
Aafis Ram Gond (27) was arrested for allegedly raping the minor girl in Bedtarai village under Kasdol police station area yesterday, Station House Officer KS Usendi told PTI.
The accused was booked under sections 363 (kidnapping), 376 (rape), 511 (attempting to commit offences punishable with imprisonment for life or other imprisonment) and sections of Protection of Child from Sexual Offences Act, 2012, he said.
The victim, a native of Belari village under Bhilagadh region of the district, had gone to Chilhari along with her parents to attend a wedding function of a relative.

On early Sunday morning, Gond kidnapped the girl when everyone was sleeping at the marriage venue and took her to a nearby secluded place where he raped her, the SHO said.
The accused fled from the spot after committing the crime.
Later, the girl informed her parents about the offence following which they lodged a complaint against the accused, who was later arrested from the village, he said.
A medical examination of the girl confirmed rape, he said, adding that further investigation was on in the case.
