Youth killed by father

In an act of filicide a
youth was bludgeoned to death allegedly by his father following an altercation at Uluberia in Howrah district today.
The father was later arrested.
Police said 28-year old Shyamal Patra was repeatedly hit with a blunt object following an argument with his father this afternoon.
Patra had protested after his 65-year old father allegedly abused his wife when she asked him not to enter home in a drunken state, the officer said.
The youth, who was lying in a pool of blood, was rushed by neighbours to a local hospital, where he was declared brought dead, he said.

The neighbours also tied the elderly man to a pole. He was later rescued by the police, who took him to custody.
