Youth loses life trying to take selfie with elephant

A youth was trampled to death by an elephant when he was trying to take a selfie with the animal in Khamar forest range area in Angul district today, officials said.
The tusker was roaming in the forest area near Nimidibeda village after straying from its herd.
The youth, identified as J Nayak, of the village in Pallahara sub-division tried to click a selfie with the elephant that trampled him, officials said.
Nayak was taken to a nearby hospital by local people where he died.
Earlier in September, a man had lost his life in a similar fashion in Sundargarh district.
