"A decision to this effect was taken at a state-level meeting chaired by YSR Congress president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy. The meeting has chalked out a programme to strengthen the party by forming committees at village and mandal level as well as carry out agitation programmes against the TDP-led state government," YSR Congress party's senior leaders Ummareddy Venkateswarlu, Vasireddy Padma, and Chevireddy Bhaskar Reddy told reporters here today.
Earlier, state-level committees were formed in Andhra Pradesh as well as Telangana. Initially, focus would be on strengthening the party's organisational structure from village and ward level along with affiliated bodies of students, women, scheduled castes, backward castes and other wings.
At each level, the party has decided to appoint observers from outside to work with local leaders and strengthen the party, covering all constituencies, they said.
