Zinc futures gain 0.16% on spot cues

Zinc prices edged higher by 0.16 per cent to Rs 219.25 per kg in futures trade today as speculators built up fresh positions, taking positive cues from spot market on rising demand.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, zinc for delivery in January traded 35 paise, or 0.16 per cent, higher at Rs 219.25 per kg in business turnover of 621 lots.
Likewise, the metal for delivery in February contracts rose 15 paise, or 0.07 per cent, to Rs 218.60 per kg in 30 lots.
Marketmen said widening of bets by participants due to pick up in demand in the domestic spot market, attributed the rise in zinc futures.
