Zinc prices moved down by 1.17 per cent to Rs 202.50 per kg in futures trade today as traders engaged in trimming holdings amid fall in demand in the spot market and a weak trend overseas.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, zinc for delivery in November fell by Rs 2.40, or 1.17 per cent, to Rs 202.50 per kg in a business turnover of 14,758 lots.
Similarly, the metal for delivery in December traded lower by a similar margin to Rs 201.90 per kg in 2,233 lots.
Analysts said offloading of positions by participants owing to slackened demand in the physical market amid a weak trend overseas, mainly weighed on zinc prices at the futures trade.
