Zinc slips in futures trade, down 0.65 pc

Zinc prices moved down 0.65 per cent to Rs 184.40 per kg in futures market today as speculators reduced their positions, in tandem with a weak trend at the physical market.
In futures trading at Multi Commodity Exchange, zinc for delivery in February month contracts shed Rs 1.20, or 0.65 per cent, to Rs 184.40 per kg, in a business turnover of 39 lots.
Likewise, the metal for delivery in current month contracts traded lower by Rs 1.10, or 0.59 per cent, to Rs 184.05 per kg in a business turnover of 1,312 lots.
Marketmen said weakness in metals at the domestic spot markets due to subdued demand, mainly put pressure on zinc prices in futures trade.
