The movie centres upon a woman who meets her boyfriend's family for the first time and struggles to get along with his unconventional sister.
Earlier this month, Deschanel sold two TV shows, 'And Lies I Tell My Daughter' and 'Freelancers', to US networks NBC and Fox.
