Wall Street opens higher on bargain hunting

(Reuters) - U.S. stocks opened higher on Tuesday as investors picked up beaten-down stocks following a turbulent two weeks, while awaiting the annual central bankers meeting in Jackson Hole later this week.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 64 points, or 0.29 percent, to 21,767.75. The S&P 500 gained 6.9 points, or 0.28 percent, to 2,435.27. The Nasdaq Composite added 29.36 points, or 0.47 percent, to 6,242.49.
