FISME seeks teeth for facilitation councils

The president of the Federation of Indian Micro and Small & Medium Enterprises (FISME), D Gandhikumar, has suggested to MSME Minister Kalraj Mishra that amendments in the delayed payment laws are needed so that power is given to facilitation councils to summon defaulting public sector undertakings (PSUs) for clearance of delayed payments. Gandhikumar said in a presentation that facilitation councils do not have the powers to summon PSUs , which consequently never turn up. The councils should be given more teeth.
