Sitaram kesri may have romped home in the recent Congress presidential poll, but he is certainly not the right person to revitalise the sad remains of a once-great party. In fact, it is obvious that several Congressmen backed Kesri because they believe he has the support of Sonia Gandhi. However, Congressmen fail to realise that the partys ingrained culture of corruption and sycophancy has rendered it terminally ill. It is a mystery why Sonia Gandhi chose to wait for six long years after the assassination of her husband to step into the fray. But even she cannot now hope to resuscitate the comatose party.
