The Centre of Indian Trade Unions has come down heavily on the SWC management over the issue of shifting of the corporate office from Calcutta to Mumbai.
In a press release issued in the name of the Citu president Niren Ghosh, it has been said that "the company is being stripped of its assets which are being misappropriated by M R Chhabria.''
Ghosh has requested prime minister I K Gujral and CLB to intervene in order to save the company.
However, a Shaw Wallace spokesperson told Business Standard that the Citu was aware of the fact that the company had shifted its liquor division two years ago, its HRD a year ago and its corporate finance division 6 months ago.
"The SWC management has been obstructed by the AISWEF in its business, but not for a single day has the management delayed paying salaries, bonuses or increments," said the spokesperson.
