Iiw 2000 To Showcase Global Technologies

Media2india.net, a Microland company, and Penton Media jointly announced that India Internet World 2000, to be held here between September 27-29, will feature current technologies, wireless application protocol, e-business trends, Internet appliances and related technologies.

Moving forward from last year's focus on traditional Internet business, this year, IIW 2000 will focus on global perspectives with conferences and exhibitions covering Internet, e-business, e-services and other vital world wide web topics. With international participation growing four-fold this year, IIW 2000 will provide a platform to display technologies and trends that address the Internet market.

The show will bring together over 1,500 delegates and will feature leading visionaries of the Internet technologies. "We, at Microland, are proud to unveil IIW 2000, Asia's largest Internet event. With the rapidly changing persona of Internet business today, IIW 2000 is a testimony to the fact that India is quickly emerging and keeping pace with the global competitive advantages that the net offers," said Pradeep Kar, chairman, Microland Group, a co organiser of the show.

IIW 2000 will also host interactive panel discussions on various issues, including trends in the Internet business, cyber laws, B2B markets, Internet advertising, mergers and acquisitions and the Internet shakeout, innovative retail formats and Internet start-up game.

The conference will have five tracks covering a wide spectrum of the Internet paradigm, eight key note sessions by leading Internet gurus, conference covering the latest trends on the Net, panel discussions and 60 sessions addressing technology, business and marketing issues.

The conference will have participants from Bermuda, China, Europe, Hong Kong, Israel, West Asia, Singapore, the UK and US. The exhibitors include ISPs, ASPs, technology and content companies, B2B marketplaces, B2C portals, application developers, integration, media and publishing companies. It will also have a representation from resellers and distributors. "IIW 2000 will be the fifth largest exhibition in the world out of the 23 events and potentially our largest attended conference outside the US," said Michael Westcott, managing director, Asia Pacific Penton Media.

According to Suresh Raman, chief executive office media2india.net, "With the Internet economy maturing at a rapid pace, new technologies are developing and getting deployed at break-neck speed. IIW 2000 will provide the most viable platform to imbibe a global perspective on the latest Internet development tailored for the matured Internet arena."
