The net profit during the period stood at Rs 1.33 crore against Rs 1.31 crore in the corresponding period last year. The net sales during the same period increased by 9 per cent at Rs 19.26 crore against Rs 17.66 crore in the last fiscal.
The negative growth in original equipment, STU and defence sector has been more than compensated by the growth of 34 per cent in motor cycle and 40 per cent in industrial, said a press release.
Exide chairman S B Ganguly said in the press release, sales in the automobile sector was below expectations but despite this the company's sales in the replacement sector has shown a modest growth.
