Northern Telecom Chief Rance Recalled To Us

It is not clear who will replace Rance. Company officials confirmed that the incoming managing director was from the Canadian majors international business arm in UK, but were unwilling to name him. Rances replacement is expected to come in next month.

Nortel officials, however, denied that Rance was recalled because the companys India business had not done well. His departure is a routine development. His three-year contract in India comes to an end this month and he is going back on a promotion, one senior official said.
