Explore Business Standard

Recently featured in “Vogue” magazine as a young business tycoon, Pooja Shetty Deora, director, Adlabs Films Ltd, is not scared to take risks. How else would you explain her forming Walkwater Media, a production company looking at making experimental movies with new directors and scripts?
The company’s latest offering “Tere bin Laden” was one of those small budget films that not only garnered positive reviews but made money. In fact, it has collected Rs 50 million at the box office in the opening weekend itself!
Adlabs has also acquired stake in Synergy Communications, a leading content providing company for television, and owned by Siddharth Basu. In 2008, she was also in the list of “Young global leaders for 2008”, announced by the World Economic Forum.
Daughter of Adlabs Films founder Manmohan Shetty, Pooja has proven those wrong she was a director merely because her father owned the company.
She has not only brought in new business practices into the company but has also proved that young blood is not all reckless and fancy free. She is married to young politician Milind Deora.
