Rs 185-cr Nabard loan for Punjab canal

The National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (Nabard) has sanctioned a Rural Infrastructure Development Fund (RIDF) loan of Rs 185 crore for the extension of the Kandi canal from Hoshiarpur to Balachaur in Punjab’s SBS Nagar.

The project envisages construction-cum-lining of 18 km of the main canal, 11 distributaries and around 582 km of water courses in the Kandi area of the state.
