Exquisite tapestries, soft furnishings and furniture crafted in rare wood "" are all available, and command their weight in gold. Valayas line of clothing, which the countrys fashion conscious are already familiar with, will have the usual price tags "" starting at Rs 5,000, some designerwear will cost over a lakh.

Tucked away on the Chattarpur Road, the studio is far from the madding crowds of Delhi. According to Valaya, Shopping as I understand, is a sensual pleasure, to be enjoyed in an ambience of style and care. With younger brother, T J Valaya looking after the logistics of the business, Valaya is free to indulge in weaving this web of 'sensuality.

A graduate of the National Institute of Fashion Technology, the young designer has acquired a loyal customer base in the country and is also popular with the Indian community in countries like Saudi Arabia, Dubai, London and Singapore, where his outfits retail at prominent stores.

This move towards product diversification is likely to win him more clients. He says, Every industry takes time to grow. The Indian fashion industry has just begun to walk on its own. Valaya himself seems to be taking rapid strides towards super success.
