Taco In Pact With Toyo, Mitsubishi For Radiators

Tata AutoComp Sys-tems Ltd (Taco) said on Tuesday it had tied up with Japan's Toyo Radiator Co Ltd and Mitsubishi Corp to design and manufacture aluminium brazed radiators for passenger and commercial vehicles.

"Tata Toyo Radiator Pvt Ltd., as the joit venture is called, will manufacture radiators for suppliers to the Japanese auto manufacturers entering India," the Tatas said in a statement.

"The joint venture company is planning an investment of about Rs 50 crore at the proposed manufacturing facility near Pune," the statement added.

Tata Toyo Radiator will invest in facilities for aluminium brazed radiators, in line with global trends of aluminium radiators replacing traditional copper and brass radiators, which still dominates the Indian market, the group said.

Toyo Radiator is Japan's largest independent radiator manufacturer, supplying to all the major OEMs. Prior to its Indian venture it had made a foray into China, the statement said.

Tata AutoComp Systems Ltd is a holding company set up by the Tata group to promote a series of joint venture companies which intend to bring world-class technologies to India and help establish Indian capabilitie sin engineering and manufacturing, the statement said.
