NorthEast go top of the table with 11 points while Delhi, who are yet to win a game despite playing six matches, sit at eighth position in the points table

Minute 88 -- Delhi are pushing forward now and NorthEast are letting them, choosing to sit deep and defend resolutely. The visitors then break on counter and Okrah has the opportunity to cross into the box but he goes for the glory from the left and shoots it across the face of the goal just missing the far post

Half-time report: The first half of Delhi Dynamos FC vs NorthEast United FC at Jawaharlal Nehru stadium in Delhi had everything but a goal.

 

The chances flew thick and fast and the first opportunity came as early as in the sixth minute when Zuiverloon intercepted a pass in the NorthEast half and tried to catch Kumar, who was off his line, but the goalkeeper got into his area in time to catch the Delhi defender's effort safely.

 

A minute later, NorthEast attacked down the other end and Ogbeche curled first-time from the edge of the box but his shot hit the crossbar. Then, Mascia got the ball inside the box and turned and took a shot which was off-target.

 

NorthEast also had a legitimate penalty call turned down in the 25th minute. The French forward brought down a lofted ball inside the Delhi ball and tried to shoot with his left foot but was stonewalled by Zuiverloon. NorthEast players appealed for a penalty which the referee turned down, much to the angst of the away supporters.

 

More chances came NorthEast's way, one of such in the 40th minute when Borges received a cross in the middle of the box and played the ball down before firing in a shot that took a deflection off a sliding defender and went out for corner. NorthEast got another chance from the corner but Dorronsoro did incredibly to keep off the header.

 

Some good goalkeeping has kept the scoreline scoreless, but if the strikers can find their scoring form in the second half there are plenty of chances to be taken benefit of.
