After tying up with University of Burdwan for a knowledge process outsourcing (KPO) course, Kolkata based business process solutions provider Acclaris is now in talks with the state government IT arm Webel to develop a common module that could be taught across universities in West Bengal and create a pipeline of industry ready manpower.

"The state IT minister Debesh Das is quite upbeat about the possibility and we could design a common module with the help of Webel", said Kalyan Kar, managing director of Acclaris.

He added, “If such a thing comes up then other service providers could also join fray as there would be enough opportunity for everyone to have access to skilled manpower".

As each company had different and specific requirements, the course was likely to be structured in a way that each student had a hands-on training with a company.

Acclaris tied up with University of Burdwan for a three-month training programme last year following the same format.

It typically looked at training the masters students from any discipline in data analytics, insurance adjudication, fund management or re-imbursement administration.

“We are keen on training students from underprivileged backgrounds through our subject matter experts, and have offered 100 per cent recruitment so far”, Kar claimed.

Of the 28 people it had trained earlier, 10 were offered scholarships by the company.

Under the present tie-up, Acclaris could train upto four batches of 15 people each every year.

However, the company claimed that there is plenty of untapped skills potential in the market, more so as this was a non-voice business process off-shore service.
