“Technology for this universal mobile application, which helps mobile devices to identify each other, is in place. While the Indian patents have already been approved, we are awaiting the same for the US market,” he said, while declining to share more details.
The almost one-year-old company, which is now focusing more on the education sector, is also coming up with a mobile application christened Prodigy. The app works on BlackBerry, iOS (iPhone operating system), Android and Windows devices.
It helps eliminate parent-teacher meetings and allows parents to log in and get notifications, time tables and other schedules, besides comparing their kids’ subject-wise performance with other students in the class. AppThoughtz plans to launch Prodigy across schools in Hyderabad and Bangalore in October.
Stating that the demand for tablet PCs bundled with in-built applications and offline content was on the rise in India, Kallepalli said the company would be launching pan-India iSquare, a 10.1-inch tablet PC for JEE (Joint Entrance Examination) students this month.
“We have tied up with Mercury Publications to provide content for the long-term preparation device, which helps students start learning from as early as Class-VI. We are majorly focusing on schools and have set a target to sell 10,000 tabs (or Rs 10 crore in value) by this current academic year,” he said.
