Bristlecone India,a supply chain solutions company specialising in SAP solutions, is set to double its global headcount by the end of 2006 and will add over 200 people in its Pune centre. The company has chosen Pune for its next phase of expansion.

Speaking on the company's growth plans, V Mani, vice president, international delivery, said, "We have signed a substantial number of new contracts and expect our business to grow at 40% year-on-year. We expect our headcount to touch 1,400 globally by the end of next year".

Since the merger with Mahindra Consulting in 2004, the company's revenue has expanded two-fold. Presently, Bristlecone employs over 800 people worldwide of which over 700 are based in India.

Mumbai is the largest centre in India with over 350 employees. In Bangalore, the company has 340 people and in Pune it currently employees 50 people.

"Pune is one of the fastest growing markets for Bristlecone in India," Mani said. Further he added the automotive industry has been a strong focus for Bristlecone and considering the size of the auto industry in Pune, the company expects a significant part of revenue coming from the auto sector.

Bristlecone is part of the core development team of SAP and the centre in Pune will function both as a development centre for SAP based Bristlecone solutions for mid-market and as an extended supply chain management and business consulting centre.
