eInfochips in pact with Tensilica

eInfochips has become the second company in the country after Tata Elxi to enter into partnership with Tensilica, a configurable processor technology company.
 
The partnership would enable eInfochips to associate with Tensilica Xtensions Design Center Partner Program which would offer system-on-chip (SOC) design services for customers using Tensilica's Xtensa configurable processors or Diamond Standard processor cores.
 
"We're seeing an increased demand for Tensilica's xtensa and diamond standard processors in a wide variety of applications from current and potential new customers," said Tapan Joshi, vice-president of marketing, eInfochips.
 
"Our expertise can help these customers get their new designs to market much faster and we can provide the full range of services for Tensilica customers from silicon design and verification to embedded firmware development and total system integration," Joshi added.
 
The design centre will involve a chain of activities from SOC design, design verification, multiprocessor board design, firmware development, middleware to system design.
 
The partnership is expected to bring together services from eInfochips to enable SOC designers to accelerate development of their xtensa-based and diamond standard processor designs while meeting demanding performance and time-to-market requirements. eInfochips will provide turnkey product design services from concept to product.
 
"The partnership will be instrumental in meeting market demands for embedded applications and help customers get their new designs to market much faster. eInfochips will provide full range of services for Tensilica customers from silicon design and verification to embedded firmware development and total system integration, " said Joshi.
 
Tensilica's processors are the engines in system-on-chip (SOC) designs and are optimized for embedded applications such as set-top boxes, network protocol processing, consumer electronics, wireless communications and audio and video processing.
 
Currently, Tensilica has over 90 licensees and around 200 configurable processing designs.
 
It is also planning to expand to other areas is making its way into many areas of embedded applications space including wireless communications, consumer devices and networking infrastructure equipment.
