More about the UPTET 2026

The commission has imposed strict security procedures, such as requiring "live photo" uploads and thorough verification for twin siblings, in a major reform intended to reduce malpractice. The UPESSC has implemented a "live photo" requirement for the first time in the exam's history.

Applicants are required to upload a real-time selfie to prevent impersonation, which occurs when someone uses an altered photo to take an exam in place of a candidate. The camera on the device or a mobile QR code verification mechanism on the portal can be used for this.

A mandatory section about twin siblings has also been added to the application form. The existence of a twin brother or sister must be disclosed by candidates. If the response is "Yes," they must supply the twin's gender, identity proof number, Aadhaar-linked name, and whether the twin is taking the same test. According to the commission, this information is necessary for streamlined examination administration and identity verification.
