Hutch launches mobile shop in Vijayawada

Hutchison Essar South Limited launched first-of-its kind customer service initiative, 'Mobile Hutch Shop,' a one-stop solution to provide state-of-the-art services for all customer needs, in Vijayawada on Friday.

The mobile shop, second one in Andhra Pradesh, will provide faster online service to customers at their doorsteps and convenience in about 40 towns and surrounding villages in Prakasam, Guntur, Krishna, Khammam and Nalgonda districts.

The itinerary of the mobile shop would be intimated to customers through SMS. The shop would be parked at key locations in the selected towns and would serve current and potential customers.

After launching the mobile shop, Hamir Bakshi, chief operating officer of the telecom company, also inaugurated the second Hutch retail shop. Now, the number of Hutch retail shops in Andhra Pradesh stands at 11 "" four in Hyderabad, two each in Visakhapatnam and Vijayawada and one each in Nellore, Rajahmundry and Guntur.

Bakshi said, "The Hutch Mobile Shop is complete with online connectivity to billing systems through nationwide GPRS service, an executive counter for interaction, a cheque collection box, and a retailing stand."

"The mobile shop," he said, "would also provide activation of post-paid connections, sale of pre-paid SIM cards and recharge coupons, service activation/deactivation, change of post-paid tariff plan among others."
