MeritTrac plans tie-ups with 15 universities

| The company has already tied up with Bharathiar University in Coimbatore and Visvesvaraya University in Bangalore. |
| The final year and pre-final year students from the colleges affiliated to these universities take up the skill assessment tests of MeritTrac and the company gives score cards on the strengths and weaknesses of the students. It also provides aggregate report on the college's performance. |
| About 50 colleges affiliated to Bharathiar University have signed up for such skill assessment tests of their students while about 106 colleges affiliated to Visvesvaraya university have signed up with MeriTrac. |
| The Bangalore-based company has tested about 10,000 final year and pre-final year students of the two universities over the last 6-7 months and hopes to test about 40,000 students of Visvesvaraya University by the end of this fiscal. |
| Madan Padanki, co-founder and director, MeritTrac, told Business Standard that the company's offerings were aimed at helping the organisations hire the right people and the candidates acquire right skills to enhance their employability. |
| He added that the company's tests had been designed to evaluate the skills of candidates at three levels "� inherent capabilities and analytical skills, domain skills and communication skills. |
| The company charges Rs 200 to Rs 350 per student for the skill assessment tests. However, if a university agrees to subsidise the operational costs, the fee from the university would be as low as Rs 125 each, he added. |
