"Since Gujarat is an important zone for the company, we are planning to bring in different mobile handsets to cater both lower and higher end customers," said Lloyd Mathias, director of marketing India, Motorola.
The distribution channel will increase by 25 per cent across the country, he added.
Motorola will also tie-up with cellular services like Airtel, Hutch and Idea to distribute its new handset C168 which costs Rs 3,400 and also has FM radio, said Mathias.
However, he refused to disclose the company's market share of mobile phones in India.
Further, Mathias said that no service operator in the country is offering 3G service currently.
"We will launch 3G handsets before the services are launched here," he claimed.
This year, the company is also planning to telecast Indian advertisements.
"Very soon our ads, which were shot in India, will be on air. Till now we have been telecasting only international commercials," said Mathias.
