Rajinikanth's debut on Twitter becomes an instant hit

Amasses 42.5 K followers within 45 minutes after making his first tweet

Super Star Rajinikanth would now be present in the social networks through the 140-character online networking space, Twitter. In his debut into the digital space, he has amassed 42.5 K followers within 45 minutes after making his first tweet.

In his official twitter handle, @SuperStarRajini, his first post was "Salutation to the Lord. Vanakkam anaivarukkum !! A big thank you to all my fans. Excited on this digital journey" which was retweeted over 3,700 times within the next 45 minutes.

"I decided to start with Twitter because I felt that the platform is abuzz with all the news and the trends that happen across the globe and I'm told that this is where all the best Rajini one liners are!" said Rajinikanth in a press announcement.

"I have always believed that my career graph is a miracle I owe my fans. I have been contemplating joining the social media platform for a while to connect with them, hear what they have to say and share my thoughts. Unfortunately I never got around to it until now. By partnering with Fluence I am confident that I have the best team and the best guides who will help me connect with my audience" he said.

His digital presence would be managed by Fluence, a celebrity digital network from CA Media Digital, the Asian investment arm of The Chernin Group. Fluence currently manages the digital life of many celebrities such as Amitabh Bachchan, Salman Khan, Sonu Nigam, Shaan, Karishma Kapoor, including their social media presence, their digital endorsements, online and mobile monetisation and equity-linked investments in the digital space.
