Reliance Communications (RCom), India’s leading telecom service provider, today announced the launch of Reliance 3G services in Punjab.
With this rollout, RCom will offer 3G services to customers in Jalandhar, Amritsar, Ludhiana, Patiala and Bhatinda.
RCom says it has rolled out the 3G services in a record time of around 100 days after receiving the 3G spectrum.
RCom will be launching its 3G services across all 13 telecom circles, where it holds 3G licences, by the end of 2010-11. The company is targeting a national footprint in 3G services through associations with other 3G licensees in the remaining nine telecom circles during the next year. Last month, RCom launched its 3G services in Chandigarh, Delhi, Mumbai and Kolkata.
“The launch is an integral part of our Vision 2015 of creating a ‘Wirefree Punjab’ built upon the affordable ‘3G for All’ platform. Personalisation of services, simplification of tariffs and a content-rich portfolio on the ‘Best in Class’ 3G wireless network will enable Reliance customers to get a much superior 3G service experience,” said Sabyasachi Chakraborty, circle head (wireless business) RCom, Punjab.
Reliance 3G network has been designed to offer blanket coverage in every town being connected via 3G and provide maximum download speeds upto 28 Mbps with minimum latency. “Reliance 3G services will offer the widest bouquet of cutting edge services including video calling, mobile TV, video streaming and applications accessed at superfast speeds ubiquitously on a variety of mobile and personal computing devices”, said Chakraborty.
