Asim Warsi, VP, Marketing, IT & Mobile, Samsung India Electronics said the product is developed on dual edge design, with 5.7-inch display.
The company reduced the length and width of the phone to 2 mm length, said Warsi.
The device has 16 MP high-resolution rear camera and 5 MP front camera. The product will be available from August 28 in two colours. The company's products are sold through 1.50 lakh telecom retail outlets and through around 2,000 exclusive branded stores
Along with the launch of Galaxy S6 Edge Plus, in the last eight months the company has launched 17 products in India. "We marked our presence across the segments including feature phones and tablets," said Warsi.
He claimed that the new launch will further strengthen the company, which claims that its market share (in value terms) in the Indian smartphone space is around 40 per cent.
He said the industry is growing at around 12-15 per cent and Samsung is growing faster than anyone else.
Samsung has invested Rs 517 crore for the expansion of the Noida plant under the UP Mega Policy. Samsung India Electronics has completed 20 years in India and today has three research labs and two manufacturing plants in the country with a total of 45,000 employees.
