TCG Lifesciences, which runs its informatics business unit under LabVantage Solutions Inc, has acquired the SQL*LIMS business from Applied Biosystems, a part of Life Technologies Corporation, for an undisclosed amount. The acquisition is expected to strengthen TCG Lifesciences’ global presence in the laboratory informatics market.
Life Technologies is a global biotechnology tools company providing premier systems, consumables, and services for scientific researchers around the world. TCG Lifesciences Limited, a part of the US-based global investment conglomerate The Chatterjee Group (TCG), has over 200 customers, including 15 of the top 20 global pharmaceutical companies.
“This also facilitates LabVantage’s growth in the forensics and human identification markets and bolsters the strategic expansion plans of TCG Lifesciences,” TCG Lifesciences Chairman Purnendu Chatterjee said in a press release.
