IT services major Tata Consultancy Services said today that it has been named the technology partner of Ducati Motor Holding Spa, a leading manufacturer of motorbikes and superbikes headquartered in Italy.
In a filing with the Bombay Stock Exchange, TCS said it has signed a multi-million dollar deal with Ducati to deliver technology-based services that will help improve the Italian manufacturer's customer responsiveness and business efficiency.
As a first assignment, TCS has been awarded an ERP engagement with Ducati Motor Holding and its subsidiaries in Europe. The Indian IT services firm has partnered with KPMG Advisory, Italy for this assignment, the filing said.
TCS said the objective of the ERP project is to improve supply chain management, especially in the area of forecasts, inventory levels and optimised production plans, and overall reduced logistics costs.
