Gurgaon-headquartered BPO services provider Vertex India is planning to set up five centres across different cities, including one large centre in the eastern part of the country either in Kolkata or Bhubaneswar, The company also plans to hire 8,000 people over the next 12 months.
“The total investment per centre will range between Rs 3 crore and Rs 5 crore depending on the location and size,” Keshav C Gaur, managing director and chief executive of Vertex India, said.
Last year, its parent company UK-based Vertex had acquired Mumbai-based BPO firm Shell Transource.
“The acquisition has helped us in emerging as a leading player in the domestic market. We have almost doubled in terms of size and revenue in this one year, and going forward, we hope our revenues to cross the $100 million (about Rs 450 crore)-mark by 2013 from $25-35 million at present,” he said.
It also plans to take its employee headcount to 20,000 by 2013, from the current 5,000. This includes, doubling of the Hyderabad centre’s headcount to 3,000, from the current 1,200.
Launching its new service delivery centre here on Friday, Gaur said the domestic BPO was very unorganised but slowly getting into more structured and organised platform.
“We expect there would be a total 8-10 big players consolidating with the bigger players a few years down the line,” he said.
The 29,000 sft Hyderabad centre will support the company’s rapid expansion plan of growing client base and increasing employee strength.
