Having recently forayed into overseas markets like Sri Lanka and Bangladesh by setting up offices, Ahmedabad-based Virtual Netcomm Pvt. Ltd. is now vying for distribution rights of more number of network security brands.
Currently, Virtual Netcomm, the sole value-added distributor in India for Nasdaq-listed Blue Coat Systems of California, also distributes network security brands, Oversi and Palo Alto.
However, according to Rajendra Shah, managing director, Virtual Netcomm Pvt. Ltd., by the end of the calendar year 2010, the company expects to pocket distribution rights for seven new network security products, taking the total number of products to 10.
Moreover, going forward the company intends to foray into distribution of storage and video conferencing devices.
"Apart from scouting for network security brands, we are also planning to foray into other kinds of products like storage and video conferencing. In next 3-4 months, we intend to begin distribution of video conferencing at least, for which we will soon begin talks with vendors," said Shah.
After foraying into overseas market like Sri Lanka and Bangladesh, the company is also eyeing the Middle East region, especially setting operations in Dubai to cater to nearby countries like Qatar and Jeddah.
Talking about the company's future plans, Shah also said, "While expansion of our product portfolio is on, our next step will be to move into services like solution architecturing, remote support to IT hardware, and other professional services for large projects. Through a new company Virtual UK Pvt. Ltd. in the UK, we intend to cater the European market for services. In fact, in next three years, our services business will see a revenue of $ 25 million (Rs 114 crore approx.)."
For Blue Coat Systems, the company plans to enter tier two cities and add a total of 50 channel partners and 100 reference partners. Blue Coat has recently opened its own office in New Delhi and Virtual Netcomm is working jointly with Blue Coat for its products including Blue Coat SG Network and MACH5.
Currently the company caters to large enterprises, BPOs, Banks and insurance companies. Recently, the company began offering products to the small and medium business (SMBs) for which it offers Blue Coat and Palo Alto at a starting price of Rs 2.5 lakh.
