The company is going to have its printing unit in Chandigarh by the end of 2006, with an investment of Rs 1 crore.
"Shifting my base to Chandigarh is not going to be a disadvantage because the city is well-connected with immense potential to grow and has skilled labourers," said Vivan Singh Gill, director, Vision 4 Pack Tech.
With its venture into packaging and consultancy last year, the company is looking to have an annual turnover of Rs 1.2 crore. "We have grown 120 per cent since last year and are looking towards more growth," Gill said.
The company is catering for brands at the retail shelf only, with overseas clients for environment-friendly paper packaging, jute packaging, retail shelf cartons, multi wallpaper bags, shopping bags, non-woven cloth packaging and 100 per cent bleached cotton cloth packaging.
The clients include Hindustan Lever, GS Chattha Rice Mills, Nav Bharat Exports, Asha Pura Exports, to name a few
"We will do contract manufacturing for a European company with an order for 100,000 bags. Along with that we have an order for paper CD covers," Gill said.
Further, he said the packaging of hybrid flower and vegetable seeds for export from Hyderabad were other areas to tap.
The expansion of the company will be in the pharmaceutical sector, from packaging to installing plastic bottle manufacturing units ranging from 100 gm to 1 litre.
"I want to give a complete packaging solution to the pharma companies under one roof and it may take me another five years with an investment of Rs 10 crore, but I foresee good demand from the region," Gill said. Gill said the firm had a short exposure to the international markets like Europe, the US, and Canada, and competition came from organised markets like Italy.
"In India we need to have packaging standards and norms to expand our client base in other countries," Gill said.
