Makers Laboratories plans sale of Thane manufacturing unit

Makers Laboratories Limited, manufacturer of branded generics, is reportedly planning to dispose of its manufacturing unit located at of Dombivli, Thane (Maharashtra). “A meeting of the board of directors of the company will be held on February 19, 2016, to consider the sale, transfer and disposal of the company’s manufacturing unit situated at Dombivli,” said Makers Labs in a BSE filing.
 
This small manufacturing unit, consisting of leasehold land admeasuring about 750 sq metres and factory buildings admeasuring about 457 sq metres, is engaged in the manufacturing and sale of bulk drugs and drug intermediates, which is not a core business activity of Makers Laboratories. “This manufacturing unit contributed approximately 14 percent of the company's total income for the financial year ended March 31, 2015,” said Makers.
